Jeremy Herron, PTA, Exercise Specialist

Jeremy spent his youth is Lake Jackson, Texas where he lived an “ideal childhood”, riding his bike and playing with neighborhood friends all day long. He pursued an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science degree from Texas State, San Marcos and later also achieved a Physical Therapy Assistant degree in 2011. His 11+ year career has been a mix of outpatient therapy and home health therapy, but one job in particular stands out: Jeremy met his wife Lacey Hazlip Herron, also a therapist at Brown Rogers Physical Therapy, when she interviewed and hired Jeremy at a clinic where she was clinical director. After dating one year, they were married!

When Hurricane Harvey flooded their workplace, Jeremy, Lacey and their two small daughters moved to Baton Rouge, Lacey’s home town.

What’s your favorite thing about working in an outpatient setting?

The variety of patients. It’s literally never the same job each day.

What’s it like to work with your wife every day?

We complement each other in our therapy skills. Also, we both have a good sense of humor and patients really enjoy the light joking around we do, helps them to feel closer to us, like part of the family,

What is the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is also what I love the most, the patient puzzles! The problems that aren’t obvious to figure out keep me excited. I like really getting into which anatomical structures are involved in any pain or dysfunction.

Fun Fact: Jeremy has a woodworking hobby. Recent projects include an extra large toy box for his girls ages 5 and 7 and Christmas gifts in the form of personalized wall art.
