Jennifer Watson, PT, MBA
After graduating from UT, Austin, Jennifer received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in 2002 and a MBA from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette in 2019. New to the Baton Rouge area by way of Lafayette, Jennifer has spent most of her 22 years of her PT career in outpatient orthopedic therapy. She treats all body parts with expertise, and has specializations in shoulder rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation, and spine injuries. Jennifer is McKenzie-trained for evaluation and treatment of spine, has a certification in dry needling, and truly values a hands-on, individualized approach when it comes to patient care. She is a tremendous match to the patient-driven philosophy of Brown Rogers Physical Therapy and Wellness.
She has an accepting and engaging demeanor that puts people at ease, and Jennifer finds herself listening to life stories wherever she goes. This empathic quality is obvious when meeting her for the first time, and helping others is an obvious passion.
What was your most unique experience as a travel therapist for 6 months?
“In Iowa I became good friends with a PTA co-worker who lived on a farm, and she invited me to spend a day where I fed cattle and rode all over their 40+ acres of farmland. I felt like a kid! Later that day her husband, who is an auctioneer, hosted an auction! So it was one new thing after another packed into just one day, and I had a really good time.”
What do you want to do next in the field of Physical Therapy?
“I am goal-oriented and always ready to be a student, so my next step in education is ASTYM certification. I recently decided this after watching and being inspired by my co-therapist, Jaime Lamothe, who has amazing results with this technique.”
Fun Fact: Jennifer enjoys hiking and being outdoors. She will also travel anywhere for food! Before graduate school, Jennifer lived in many places, including Alaska, Oklahoma, and Texas!
